I was General McKee's first Officer Aide-de-camp in 1968. He indeed was the epitome of a gentleman's gentleman. I was honored to have visited him in 2014 prior to me moving to Ecuador. He is missed by many. He was a Christian and I am looking forward to seeing him again.

I worked in the Administration Building when General McKee was Governor of the USSAH and where he had his office. I have never known a more perfect gentleman who never passed you by without speaking or acknowledging you. I don't think there were any employees he did not know by name. His major concern was for the well-being of the residents and employees of the USSAH. He would listen to their concerns with great care. I am saddened by his passing; he will be greatly missed.

A tribute to General McKee would not be complete without a glimpse at one of the eight stained glass windows in Stanley Chapel. Acquisition of the windows occurred in 1988 when the McKee family resided in the Governor's Quarters at the Soldiers' Home. Thank you for this treasure!

You are in our prayers during this time of sorrow. We will never forget the improvements to Stanley Chapel and our campus during the time General McKee was governor of the U. S. Soldiers' and Airmen's Home.
