Of Fairfax, VA, passed away on January 18, 2012. Beloved husband of 61 years to Joyce L. Thompson; loving father of Beverly Armbruster and her husband, Robert, Daniel S. Thompson and his wife, Jan, Deborah King and her husband, Michael; cherished grandfather of Tom Armbruster and his wife, Becki, Stephen Armbruster, Ashleigh Thompson, Erin Field and her husband, Kyle, David King, Bryan King, and Jason King; dear brother of Betty Thompson and Gene Thompson. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Country Club of Fairfax. A Memorial Service will be held at Fairfax United Methodist Church on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Fairfax United Methodist Church or the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges, www.vfic.org.
