

Glenn was born in Washington D.C. to Glenn S. Rea Sr. and Addie Louise Rea on September 2, 1943. He graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, VA. Glenn earned a BS degree from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, MD.
Glenn was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist church on Christmas day in 1965, just before he was drafted into the Army as a Conscientious Objector and sent to Vietnam, carrying a Bible instead of a gun. He served as a field medic. His faith in the Lord helped him through his tour of duty. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Purple Heart, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Medical Badge, and the Bronze Star with “V” for valor.
He worked as an accountant for 39 years at the Review & Herald Publishing Association in Takoma Park, MD and Hagerstown, MD. He served on the Review & Herald Mission Fund Committee. While working at the Review and Herald, he served as a Notary Public for the state of Maryland.
While living in Hagerstown, he enjoyed visiting the local planetarium and learning about Astronomy.
He was an active member of the Alexandria Seventh-day Adventist church in Alexandria, VA, serving as its treasurer. Later, he transferred to the Williamsport Adventist church in Williamsport, MD, where he also served on the treasury team.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Louise Keith.
Glenn is survived by his sister, Barbara Beckett and her husband, John Beckett.
Glenn’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Morning Pointe Assisted Living team in Collegedale, TN for their care during his last five years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, at the Williamsport Adventist Church with pastor Reinhardt Stander, officiating. Burial is at the National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
Glenn died looking forward to the second coming of Jesus, when he will be reunited with family and friends – to never part again.
