

Born on June 14, 1941, in Winchester, VA, he was the oldest of four children born to Guy Fansler and Alice (Russell) Fansler. He graduated from Washington Lee in 1959, and went on to study at Virginia Tech. Guy served in the Navy Reserves.
Guy spent much of his career working at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in Washington, DC. Outside of work, he had a passion for dancing, bowling, traveling, working on the house he built in West Virginia and spending time with his family. Guy was a member of the Oldsmobile Club.
He is survived by his sister Kay Garrison (Steve) and his brother Don Fansler, 10 nieces/nephews, 15 great nieces/nephews, 13 great-great nieces/nephews and his girlfriend Vanessa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rod Fansler.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Murphy Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, VA.
