

Mr. Kharbanda was born on February 17, 1937 in Sargodha, India to the late Chaman Lal and Lajwanti (Khetarpal) Kharbanda. Hari Mitter lived most of his childhood in Delhi, India. His interest for engineering took him to the United States, after which he graduated from George Washington University with a Masters of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He worked for the United States government for 25 years prior to his retirement in 2002. He also had a passion for homeopathic medicine.
He is survived by his devoted wife Nirmala, daughters Monica Kharbanda Conklin (Jeffrey) and Manisha Kharbanda, and grandsons Arjun Conklin and Eshaan Conklin; also he is survived by 3 brothers (Raj Kharbanda, Harish Kharbanda and Surinder Kharbanda) and 1 sister (Shardha Bagga).
Hari’s smile would light up any room. He treated everyone with love, attention and respect. He took great pride in his Indian heritage and the support of his community. His last days were spent doing what he loved most-enjoying the company of his grandchildren. He will be dearly loved and missed by his family and friends.
The funeral service will be held on December 9, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the National Funeral Home, located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
