
Harold Delos Quigley 83, of Ashburn Virginia died peacefully of congestive heart failure Saturday May 31st 2014 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral Florida. He was born in Cayuga, New York on Dec 16th 1930. The youngest of 3 Sons of Margurite Minet & Harold Carlton Quigley. Harold Known to his family and friends as, Quig , lived a full life and touched the hearts and lives of many. He joined the Army and was sent to Washington DC as a member of the 3rd Infantry , “The old Guard” and never left the Washington DC area. He received his A.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and went to work as an Antenna Engineer at Melpar inc. He left the company in 1958 and began working as a Manufacturers’ Representative at Engineering Associates. In 1972 He founded his own representative firm Applied Engineering Consultants, and was a partner in 6 additional companies throughout his 44 year professional career in industrial and defense electronics.
Quig was an avid outdoorsman and rarely missed an opening day in Virginia’s deer season with his boys.
He was a private pilot, coached Football with the McLean boys club and has been attending the Washington Redskins football games since the skins played in old Griffith Stadium.
He is survived by his wife,of 60 years Geraldine Speaks Quigley, two children William Harold Quigley of Shady Side Maryland, Christopher Thomas Quigley of Ashburn VA and 5 grandchildren and predeceased by son Mark Quigley in 1979.
Harold & Gerry are members of St Theresa’s Catholic Church in Ashburn Va.
