Helen J Fink

Beloved wife, mother, and friend, of Arlington, VA died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 88 of congestive heart failure. Helen was born on July 3, 1922 in Richland County, IL. She is survived by her loving husband James A. Fink Jr., daughter Julia L. Larson, son Robert D. Fink and his wife Sondra. She is also survived by sisters Mary Ellen Long of Columbia, IL and Anna Mae Vaeth of Cascade, CO. Six brothers preceded her in death. Helen worked for the US Government starting in 1942, was among the first employees to occupy the Pentagon, and retired from the Dept. of Interior in 1982. Her passions included playing bridge, going to the horse races, and spending time with her family, friends, and cherished husband.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Helen's name to either the American Cancer Society or Capital Caring hospice.

James, Julia, Robert, and Sondra invite friends and family to join them at a viewing this Wednesday, April 13 from 2-4 PM and the funeral service on Thursday the 14th at 11:30 AM. Both events will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA. The burial will take place at 12:30 PM at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
