My sincere condolences on the loss of Mr. Kaplow. You have many beautiful memories of him. May you find peace and comfort in them very soon. Though I met him very late in his life while he was at Cheerydale Rehab with my husband, I found him still to be just a wonderful human being. I was so impressed by all of you and how you supported him and each other. May God give you strength to overcome.

Herb Kaplow was a gentleman as well as a journalist. Our paths crossed at ABC Radio News. I appreciated his insights on the issues of the day as well as his sense of humor and his wit. My condolences to Mrs. Kaplow and the entire Kaplow family.

My most heartfelt condolences to Betty, Steve, Bob and Larry. I spent lots of time at the Kaplow house as a child, and Betty and Herb were always so kind. Herb's successes in journalism were only surpassed by his success as a father and and husband, and the world is a lesser place without him. Love to all.

rest in eternal peace mr. herbert kaplow! your dogged determination to get the big scoop, your committment to accuracy and truth, and your god given sensitivity, towards the thoughts and feelings of others, will live long in the hearts of all who knew you...and many more whom you never met! i had just viewed, last friday, before you passed on...nbc's 11/22/63 cov. the night you reported the sad, solemn return of sec. of state rusk and cabinet officials, bk to d.c. following pres. kennedy's death. what history you reported! your legacy lives on. in the words of jfk: "and the glow from that fire (my candle i light for you tonight) can truely light the world." rest in peace, herb! we love you and always will!

He was a great influence on me growing up. As Steve's friend I spent many hours in the Kaplow house listening to the stories of Castro and astronauts and the TV talking heads. He treated high school kids as intelligent and interesting people. Their home was a warm, loving, intellectual sanctuary from the insanity that was so omnipresent in the late 60s and early 70s. I have been and always will be thankful for Herb's council and his generous personality. My condolences to Betty, Steve and the whole family. Peace.
