Hubert S. Eley Sr.

Mr. Eley was a veteran of the US Navy having served in World War II. He was a member International Union of Operating Engineers Local 77, Heavy Construction Contractor Association, Trinity United Methodist Church in Catlett and the Manassas Moose Lodge. He was a gas, telephone and electrical contractor and also a beef cattle farmer.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Donald Alan Eley, three half-sisters, Julie Alridge, Frances Ferguson and Jane Drumheller.

Survivors are his wife Nellie Eley, 2 children by his first marriage to Gladys Nice, their son Hubert S. Eley, Jr. of Culpeper, daughter Patricia A. McCombs of Calverton, his grandchildren Christopher Eley, Michelle Bullard, Donald Eley, Jr., Shannon Grimm, and seven great grandchildren.

Also he is survived by his step-children Clayton Betts, Raymond Betts, Elizabeth Kuykendall and Glenn W. Betts.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM, at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton.

A service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the funeral home at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
