Most everyone called him MR. BROWN, BUT I called him Hugh--- we were classmates at Madison elementary school from first to 7th grades !!! Hugh was always shy, but so sweet we all loved him. years roll by and from time to time, I would stop in his store to chat ---even got to see his tiny office, surrounded with photos of his family----I shall miss him evermore when going to his store from now on. really fond memories. Cousin Huey was always very kind to me... I've only been back to VA from TX a couple times over the last decade, but I always loved to stop in to Brown's Hardware and say "Hi" to Cousin Huey... him being a key maker, a service of the store, and knowing I was a baseball fan, he gave me a rubber baseball key identifier which I still have on my house key, so it will continue to make me think of him often. I will miss him and will treasure my memories of my dad's Uncle Horace, Aunt Augusta, Cousin Horace and Peggy Lou, and Cousin Huey.

Hugh was my step-uncle and I will miss him so much. We shared many lunches together and talked about his wonderful hardware store and funny things in our lives. He was the nicest, most decent person I have ever known. I know Falls Church will mourn his passing.
