

Irene was born in Akron, Ohio to Frank Chaff and Theresa Horvath on August 3, 1927. She graduated from Garfield High School (Akron, Ohio) and completed medical advancement courses at The Ohio State University. She married Joseph Frank Dyak on September 21, 1946. Irene was married for 53 years until his passing in 1999.
Irene cherished her work at Aultman Hospital (Canton, Ohio) and with specialized physicians (Rochester, New York and Columbus, Ohio) for over twenty -five years. She was a voracious consumer of medical information her entire life and truly appreciated the value of the medical profession.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, making gorgeous dresses and sweaters that she fashionably wore. Irene also enjoyed making unique crafts, especially hand painted purses. She was on the Board of Welcome Wagon, and enjoyed golf, badminton, and making Hungarian cuisine from her mother’s recipes. She especially enjoyed her sisters and brothers and was a positive influence for many of her nieces and nephews.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her eleven siblings: Frank, Margaret, Louis, John, Mary, Emma, Grace, Joey, Ruth, Janet and Bill. Irene is survived by her twin sons Bruce Alan Dyak (Dusty) and Brian Lee Dyak (Rusty), and daughter in-law Marie Gallo Dyak. Grandchildren: Fletcher Dyak, Ashleigh (Dyak) and Chris Walters, Kristin Lee Dyak and Bryan Mosher, Brian Joseph Dyak and Nora Dyak. Great Grandchildren: Olivia Walters, Addison Walters, Zion Dyak, Brooks Joseph Dyak, and Devon Marie Dyak and her many nieces and nephews.
Memorials, in Irene’s name, may be given to the health and medical charity of your choice. The family of Irene Chaff Dyak wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful care team at Tall Oaks Assisted Living, Reston, Virginia, The Medical Team Hospice, Dr. Scott Bell, M.D., Dr Bryan L. Grimmer DDS, and Reverend Stephen E. Rorke.
Funeral services, per Irene’s wishes, will be immediate family. Her final resting place, next to her husband, is National Memorial Park. Arrangements are by National Funeral Home, Falls Church, Virginia.
