

Irene was born in Washington D.C. to Claire Marie Lewis Graves and Gilman Luther Graves II on September 8th, 1957. She went to school at Perkiomen. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She married Mark Rosenbaum on August 20th, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV.
She worked as a Patent Examiner for the United States Patent and Trademark Office for 20 years, where she allowed 2,056 inventions to be patented.
She was involved in the Patent Office Professional Association (POPA), volunteered at Crestwood Elementary School for 17 years, First Baptist Church of Springfield, and St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. She received various honors throughout her Patent Office Career and won paid parental leave for all employees as a member of the negotiating team for POPA.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gilman and Claire Graves, and siblings Debra Graves and Gilman Graves III.
Irene is survived by Mark Rosenbaum, Carmine M. Cuda, children Joseph M. Cuda (Yi-Wen), Carmine L. Cuda, Gilman P. Cuda, and sisters Corinne Lorian, Val O’Connor, Kathy Myrah, and Win Persina.
A visitation for Irene will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 11, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 6320 Hanover Ave, Springfield, VA 22150. A graveside service will occur Monday, August 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042.
