On April 3, 2015, our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece and friend ISABELLE SUSANNE THERRIAULT died after a lengthy struggle with illness. Her parents, Dwayne Leo Therriault and Wendy Rudolph, along with sisters Sophia, Sarah and Samantha, remember their silly, fun and vivacious “Belle,” who loved animals, pranks, travel, baking and dance. Isabelle Therriault was born on January 2, 1996 in Virginia’s Fairfax County, the second of four “Wendygirls,” as her father affectionately called his brood. Belle spent 10 of her first 14 years in Asian countries in conjunction with her father’s Foreign Service assignments, and grew to embrace her role as the adorable foreign child whenever she visited local parks. Belle parlayed that affinity for the spotlight into numerous childhood modeling and acting opportunities, including a national Japanese TV ad for a major vehicle company. After returning to the United States in 2010, Belle spent most of her high school years at George C. Marshall, where she was on the dance team and participated in a wide array of other activities, all while volunteering for an animal rescue foundation. Belle was completing her freshman year at George Mason University, where she enjoyed performing in the color guard while serving as an assistant coach for the McLean High School dance team. Belle spoke Chinese and had recently discovered an affinity for Russian.
Belle’s bright smile lit up rooms and melted hearts. Belle had a creative spirit and marched to the beat of her own unique drum; she enjoyed establishing her own fashion and artistic trends. A true adventurer, Belle was equally comfortable wearing the latest fashions at Washington-area shows or getting dirty climbing the Great Wall of China. She also acquired a love of nature, which she nurtured during her family’s annual trips to visit relatives in Alaska. Belle is survived by her parents and three sisters, grandmother, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, who will all miss the wit and creativity that she displayed throughout her life.
A celebration of Isabelle Therriault’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, 12 April 2015, with a reception to follow at the Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Isabelle’s name to the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 50037, Arlington, VA 22205. (https://lostdogrescue.org/). The volunteer work Belle provided for the foundation was always a source of pleasure and satisfaction. Her family misses her greatly.
