

I-Shin Lee, 83 passed away due to complications from leukemia. I-Shin was born in Chongqing, China in 1940. Grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. She attended Shih Hsin School of World Journalism during high school and graduated from Shih Chien College of Home Economics in Taipei.
She married Dr. Hung-Chi Lee in Taiwan. They moved to California as Hung-Chi was studying at University of California, Berkley. They later moved to New York as Hung-Chi was studying for his PhD at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
I-Shin worked at Chase Bank in downtown Manhattan right in the heart of world’s financial banking center. She started in the money transfer department and built many lifelong friendships during her 30 years at Chase. I-Shin and her husband moved to McLean Virginia in the early 90’s. She continued to work for the banking industry and worked at McLean Bank. After retirement, she volunteered at the McLean Public Library and other local community organizations.
I-Shin had a wide circle of friends, from childhood school mates to co-workers at work and from her neighbors at McLean to newfound friendships that she fostered over the years.
I-Shin will be deeply missed by their family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passing leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched with her love, laughter, and kindness.
A visitation for Ishin will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
