James Roland Bell

James R. Bell, Sr., age 94 of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away January 20, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late John Bell and Myrtle I. Gallahan Bell. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Bell (d.March 3, 2014) and daughter Linda Faye. Roland is survived by his devoted children Terry Garczynski (Louis), Karen Jones (Kenneth), Nancy Holcomb (Fritz), Rolanna Bell, and J. R. Bell, Jr. (Stephanie), twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren and two brothers Gilbert Bell and John Martin Bell. He was a founder and president of a family business “Bell Pump and Well, Inc.” for 30 years; enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. He always thought of others before himself and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from October 1943 – July 1946. A graveside funeral will be held Sunday, 26 January 2020, 2:00 pm at National Memorial, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Va. 22042. Meet at gravesite if you are familiar with location or top of the hill to form a line for procession. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bruen Chapel United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
