

James was born in Ashford, Alabama to James Roy Lewis Sr. and Mildred Dorothy Lewis on July 6, 1944. He went to school in Fairfax County. He graduated from Falls Church High School.
He worked as a truck driver for his own company called JRL Trucking, Inc. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era and served in the Army.
He was involved in leather making crafts, wine making, member of National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, and collector of black powder rifles.
James is preceded in death by James Roy Lewis Sr. and Mildred Dorothy Lewis.
James is survived by son James Lewis III, daughter Jessica Keener and spouse Kenneth Keener; daughter Vicky McHuen and spouse Jason McHuen; brother Fred Lewis and spouse Linda Lewis; Grandchildren: Zachary Keener, Briana Fidler and spouse Kennth Fidler, Zoe Keener, Alyssa McHuen, Brandon Keener, and Kaitlyn Lewis.

A committal service will be held at National Funeral Home, located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, United States. The service is scheduled for December 28, 2025, starting at 10:00 am, officiated by Mitzi Nickle. Attendees are requested to arrive at the funeral home by 9:40 am to join the processional to the gravesite.
