The daughter of Foreign Service Officer, John William More and Virginia Wakeman More, Jan was born in Alexandria, VA and grew up in Thailand, Liberia and Kenya. Jan graduated from Bowie High School in 1967 and was awarded a 4-year National Merit Scholarship. She attended the University of Maryland in College Park. Jan was Vice President of Statistical Research at the Association of Registered Bank Holding Companies and later a legal administrative assistant at Crowell & Moring LLP.
Jan is survived by her brother, Syver W. More, his wife Judy More, her niece Kristin Norwood, her nephew Andrew More and her sister-in-law, Diane Ching More. Donations in memory of Jan can be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or the Humane World for Animals.
