Jean was born to Jorney and Vergie Breeden on June 12th, 1941. She attended Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. She had the “love of her life” with Kermit “Hal” Blevins for over 34 years.
She worked at the Pentagon for 50 years loving what she did with the Air Force team. She received numerous outstanding civilian awards.
She loved her crafts; knitting, crocheting and just being the “crafty” person, she was. She loved her dogs.
Jeanie has left behind:
Her sisters - Betty Cassidy and her two children – Robin and Jay – and her three grandchildren and one great grandchild;
Pat Frame and her Husband Dave and their son Dave Jr – and five grandchildren from their deceased daughter Kathryn;
Dorothy Smallwood and her two sons – Barry and Donny and two grandchildren;
Polly Modesitt and her husband Greg and their three children, Mike, Danny, and Jennifer along with fifteen grandchildren;
Her sister-in-law Terry who was married to Jorney Breeden (Jean’s brother) who passed away almost two days after Jean, on July 28, 2026, leaving his two sons Jorney Jr. and Ryan and one grandchild;
Sandy Camp and her three children, Melissa, Christian and Jonathan along with five grandchildren and Sean Ritter, her deceased sister Eva’s son and his three children.
Memorials may be given to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (whom she loved) and the ASPCA (she loved the animals).
The family of Jean Breeden wishes to extend sincere thanks to all the Caregivers at Moon River, who cared for her and stayed by her side at home and in the hospital, and of course a special thanks to both Monica and Hosne who became dear loving friends to her.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31st, at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, Virginia. Family visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by visitation for friends at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at the on-site cemetery.
