

Jean Marguerite Pellegrini of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011. She was born on January 24, 1923, to Burt A. and Marguerite (Kane) McComb in Lansing, Michigan. Sister of the late William B. McComb. Jean moved to Washington, DC after graduating from Michigan State University in 1944. Jean worked at the railroad ticket office at the Pentagon for nearly 20 years. She then started a new career in the Federal Government, working for the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and retiring in 1995 from the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management. After coming to Washington, Jean became a devoted Redskins fan, holding season tickets at Griffith Stadium for several years. Jean loved reading, solving crossword puzzles, playing the lottery (and planning what she'd do with the winnings), and going out to dinner with friends. Jean is survived by her daughter Kimberley of Fairfax, VA, her sister-in-law Rachel McComb of Lansing, MI, her niece Clare Detzler of Geneva, IL and nephew Cameron McComb of Lansing, MI, and many close friends near and far across the U.S. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association or INOVA Fairfax Hospital would be appreciated.
