

She was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Alexandria, Virginia, the daughter of Timothy and Celeste (White) Hillyer. She received her education in Virginia schools and in 1944 married Thomas Bond, Jr. in Virginia. Her beloved husband, a retired pilot of United Airlines, predeceased her in 1986.
She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She was a member of the Pilot’s Wives Club in Virginia and enjoyed bowling and spending summers at Porter Lake where she delighted in frequent boat rides.
She will be remembered for her artistic talent, particularly her oil paintings and most certainly for her love of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jeannette is survived by two sons: Thomas H. Bond and his wife Lenzy of Georgia and Robert Bond and his wife, Elizabeth of Front Royal, Virginia; three daughters; Carolyn Ferguson and her husband, Andy of Clarksville, Virginia; Jennifer McDonald and her husband, Gordon of West Virginia and Charlotte Gassett of Phillips, Maine; one brother, Stanley Hillyer and his wife, Nancy of Florida; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. in The James Room of National Memorial King David, Falls Church, Virginia, with Pastor Jim Burch officiating. Family and friends are invited to call one hour prior to the services. Interment to follow in National Memorial Park. Remembrance gifts may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
