She had a love of reading Harlequin Romance novels, receiving her monthly box of books each month from the book club. She loved baking with her grandchildren and loved going to any sports or school activities that they participated in, armed with her VCR camera. She became the "Queen of the VCR", recording numerous tv shows, movies and cartoons for all of her kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joanne was loyal to all that knew her and was the best keeper of secrets, always ready with an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on.
