What a wonderful person Joel was. He was a true professional in each position he occupied, and he was always a true gentleman. Joel was a peaceful man; may he now rest in peace eternally.

I fondly remember Joel from when I was just starting on the "Daily Report." I recall him as being so intelligent and helpful to those of us who were just starting, dedicated to getting us on the right track for our careers. He left a mark and a positive influence on so many lives and will be missed.

We were stationed w Joel & Yilper, Tom & Leyla in Amman Jordan in the 80s and had many fun times w them there. We stayed in touch for years after returning Stateside & will always remember Joel & the love he had for Yilper & his family. May he Rest In Peace and may his family find comfort in the fact that he lived a wonderful life.

We were stationed in Okinawa with Joel and Yilper and have such fond memories with living near them. Two of our children were the same age and spent many wonderful hours together. Our children played together and our little compound in Japan was a wonderful place for all of our families to be together, from the bowling team, sports, picnics and some of our wonderful parties at the O Club. Yilper and the kids are in our prayers.
