I just received word tonight of Johnnie's demise from another colleague of hers.  Johnnie was a beautiful soul.  I had the pleasure to be a colleague of Johnnie while being stationed in Rosslyn, VA at NMPC-03 in the earlier 80's. 

I  will always remember her presence as she walked into our office with that big smile.  She was funny, loud and a fancy dresser.  I can hear her big mouth laughing now! Just an awesome, warm hearted person. She was a loving mother who always talked about her son and on occasion would bring him into the office. 

Thank you Johnnie for all the morning laughter you bought to our office.  I know you're bring  big smiles to everyone in Heaven.

My condolence to the family.  I know she will be surely missed by her loved ones.

Though I hadn't seen Johnnie Mae in years, I fondly remember her from our close friendship growing up.  We were classmates together through all of our years at Langston and into high school.  I remember her smile, her sense of humor and style.  I was so sad to hear of her passing.  May God comfort and strengthen you in this time of sorrow.

God has called one of his true saints home. Mrs. Johnnie was like a mother to me and  she will truly be missed. She brought joy to whoever crossed her path. I pray God bless her family and we all remember her legacy.

Johnnie Mae and I were friends through our families. We were members of The First Baptist Church from children.  We ushered together attended Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and sang in the Jr. Choir.   Years later when I returned to FBC, there she was assuring that her mom was able to get to and from service.  I  share many good memories of Johnnie Mae and her family.  You are all truly in my prayers that God's peace will reign in your hearts as He gives you comfort.   May He hold You in the hollow of His hand.  

Johnnie Mae was a second mom to me. When I was sick with cancer she went out of her way to call my mom in NY. I was mad as all get out, but she made it easier to talk with my mom about it. I Love You to the moon and back Miss Thang, and I am truly gonna miss you!!!

Although we grew up on Halls Hill, I didn't get to know Johnnie Mae until we worked together at the Navy Annex for a few years. She was such a lovely, beautiful woman—my deepest sympathy for her family. 

My fondest memories are from our early years in elementary, jr. high and high school.  We had many great times when the small select group of us hung around for out of school activities including sleep overs.  Those were our golden years.  I am grateful for the time we had together in our youth.  I pray that Johnnie Mae rest in eternal peace.
