Jorge Mario Vargas

Jorge was born in Medellin, Colombia to Segundo Vargas and Rosa Amelia Chavarriaga on June 1st, 1934. Jorge married Gloria Vargas on December 31st, 1971, in Medellin, Colombia. He graduated from the Universidad De Medellin with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Jorge worked for Fairfax County Public Schools for more than 30 years.

Jorge is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Vargas, his daughter Gloria Hernandez and son-in-law Samuel Hernandez, daughter Nubia Vargas, his grandchildren Natalie Isabella Hernandez and Emma Amelia Hernandez, his sisters Romelia Vargas, Maria De La Fe Vargas Chavarriaga and Margarita Vargas, and his brother, Arturo Vargas Chavarriaga.

Flowers may be sent to the National Funeral Home in Falls Church, VA.

Visitation will be at 10am to 11am on January 28th, 2022, in the Chapel at National Funeral Home at 7482 Lee Highway Falls Church VA 22042 followed by Funeral services from 11am to12pm.

Burial will be at National Memorial Park, Falls Church VA in the Rose Garden at 12pm with a brief graveside service.
