Jose Jesus Abisellan, a devoted husband, adoring father and grandfather, and man of deep Catholic faith, passed away in Washington, D.C., after a long and courageous fight with cancer. He made his home in Falls Church, Virginia.
Born on July 28, 1941, in Media Luna, Cuba, Jose was the son of Eduardo Abisellan and Gloria Moros Abisellan. He immigrated to the United States in search of greater opportunity and a better life for his family. He carried with him his Cuban heritage, his Catholic faith, and a determination to build a life centered on those he loved.
Family was the cornerstone of Jose’s life, together with his deeply held Catholic faith. He devoted himself to providing for his family and took great pride in the life and opportunities he worked so hard to create for them in the United States.
Jose was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria, with whom he shared his life, raised their family, and built a home founded on love, faith, and devotion. He is survived by his two sons, Eduardo and Ernest, and his four grandchildren, Ernest, Ethan, Eduardo, and Maria.
Above all, Jose was an adoring father and a loving and proud grandfather. His children and grandchildren were a source of tremendous pride and joy, and his family remained at the center of his life.
Jose will be remembered for his devotion to his family, the sacrifices he made on their behalf, his perseverance in building a new life in America, and the Catholic faith that sustained and guided him throughout his life. Even through his long and difficult battle with cancer, his love for his family remained at the heart of who he was.
The greatest testament to Jose’s life can be found in the family he loved, the opportunities he worked so hard to provide for them, and the legacy he leaves through his children and grandchildren.
May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved Maria, and may perpetual light shine upon them.
