Mr. Vasapoli was born in Boston,Ma. and was raised and educated there.He served with the U.S. Army during WW II, in Korea. It was during his time in Korea that he and his wife met. They were married in 1951, and settled in Arlington after have lived in N.Y.City, and in the Washingto D.C. areas. Joseph attended N.Y.U., and Georgetown University,before working for the Pentagon. He later went into private business and retired as CEO of Institute for Behavioral Resources of Washington, D.C.
Joseph was an avid golfer and was a long time member of the Kenwood Club in Bethesda,Md. He also loved working in his yard, and painting in pastels.
He is survived by 4 children Joseph of Williamsburg, Dennis of Chevy Chase,Md., Cathy Shaffer of N.Y. City, and Michael of Fairfax. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, and 5 siblings, Ben , Alfred, Josie LaVerde, Jim, and Connie Agnone. Joseph was predeceased by a brother John in 1998.
