Judy Jui-Lan Wu

Judy Wu, age 89, of Fairfax, VA passed away on June 27 also in Fairfax. Judy was born in Nanjing, China to Shew-Tsu Li and Dai-Shou Yan on June 20, 1937. She went to Taipei First Girls High School in Taipei, Taiwan. She graduated from National Taiwan Normal University with a degree in English. She met and got engaged to Tsu-Te Wu in Taiwan. Shortly after she moved to the United States, she married Tsu-Te Wu in the year 1965 in Newark, Delaware.

Prior to her having children, she worked as a Chinese instructor at Columbia University and Stanford University. Later she would teach Chinese to the Central Savannah River Area Chinese School in Augusta, Georgia when they lived there.

Judy Wu is survived by husband Tsu-Te Wu, sons Wilbur Wu and Wayne Wu, daughter-in-­law Cindy Wu, siblings Helen Chao, Jui-Kwen Li and Jui Lin, grandchildren Elizabeth Wu Williams and Alexandra Wu.

Pallbearers will be Peter Chao, Kenneth Chao, Trent Li, Young Li, Chris Austin, Joel Barto, Chiang Ren, and Norman Chang.

Visitation is between 1-2 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at National Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.

Funeral Services will be held following visitation at 2 PM in the same location, with Pastor Sean Moman officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM.
