June proudly served her country during WWII in the WAVES Division of the U.S. Naval Reserves.
She joins her late husband of 48 years, Chester “Chetty” Cooksey, and is survived by her two siblings, Phyllis Chapdelaine (Northborough, MA) and Edwin Morse (Shrewsbury, MA); four sons, Chester C. Jr. (Chantilly, VA), Richard E. (Falls Church, VA), Kenneth L. (High View, WV), and Stuart R. (Stafford, VA) and their spouses; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
June will always be remembered for her quick wit, snappy comebacks, and her love of baseball, family, and football (the order of which typically reflected the win-loss column).
