Kathleen Alice O'Dowd

A lifelong resident of Falls Church, Kathy graduated from George Mason High School in 1979 and went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Northern Virginia Community College in 1981. She built a long and dedicated career with the Farm Credit Administration, where she worked for over 36 years before retiring in 2022. Kathy was known for her strong work ethic, reliability, and quiet dedication throughout her career.

More than anything, Kathy will be remembered for her connection to family. She shared a close bond with her siblings and extended family, and her presence was a steady and meaningful part of their lives.

She is survived by her sister, Patty Webb and her husband, Kipp, of Vienna, Virginia; her brothers, Terry, Jim, Kevin, and Mark O’Dowd, all of Falls Church, Virginia; her cousins, Anne Defler of Austin, TX. Her husband, David; Barbara Puzycki and her husband, Ken, of Holland, Michigan; David Obert of Princeton, New Jersey; and John Obert of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by her nieces, Jeannie O’Dowd, Megan O'Dowd of Spokane WA, and Barbara Jean Lane, and her nephews, Patrick O’Dowd and Jessie O’Dowd, of Spokane, Washington.

Kathy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad Street, Falls Church, VA 22046, US, on May 10, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Knox Presbyterian Church, 7416 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22042, US, on May 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042, US, on May 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
