Kendall Ray Coleman Sr.
Kendall Ray Coleman Sr., 68, of Plant City, Fla., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in Reston, Va., after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Kendall was born October 6, 1945, in Charleston, W.Va., to the late Clayton and Thelma Coleman of Pinch, W.Va. He lived in Charleston until the mid-1970s and then resided in Orlando and Plant City, Fla., until his passing.
Kendall received his master's degree from Marshall University and his bachelor's degree from the University of Charleston. He served in the National Guard for many years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a volunteer at Plant City First Baptist Church.
Kendall was an avid computer engineer, jokester and friend. He was known as a sweet man with a wonderful sense of humor and fierce loyalty. He was loved by many and never met a stranger. We will all miss his smile, the twinkle in those blue eyes and his quick wit. Heaven has definitely become a better place.
He is survived by his son, Kendall Coleman Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Tiffany Coleman; two granddaughters, Peyton and Campbell Coleman, all of Reston, Va.; sister, Rebecca Newcomb and her husband, William Newcomb, of St. Albans, W.Va.; and sister-in-law, Jean Coleman of Pinch. Kendall was preceded in death by his wife, Frances (Milam) Coleman, and brother, C. Leo Coleman. We know and trust that it has been a great reunion in Heaven.
The family will receive friends at a memorial on Thursday, November 7, from 5:30 p.m., with a service scheduled at 6:30 p.m., at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Elkview, W.V. A reception will follow the service.
