He was born in Arlington, Virginia on the 12th of November in 1949 to Herbert and Georgia Bohrer. One of eight, no doubt Ken was a rebel from the start. The sweetest rebel you’d ever meet, but an eye for mischief nonetheless. He went on to graduate from George C. Marshall High School.
Enlisted in the Navy at the young age of 19, there was no mistaking Ken was born with a need to serve and protect. Family and friends knew him no differently than the sailors he served aside. He was honorably discharged and continued on to serve in the Navy Reserves. A businessman from the beginning, he went on to run the family trade after his father passed in 1979. Ken dedicated the better part of 24 years to Jack’s Roofing of Silver Spring. A proud craftsman and a household name for his heartwarming attitude, grit and perfectionism.
He was an adventurous spirit and nothing but. If not on a backcountry hunting or fishing trip with his band of brothers he’d be caught riding his beloved Harleys across the country to incredible sites like Tail of the Dragon, the Rockies, or even locally on summer afternoons with friends by his side. Age was just a number to Ken, and not one he lived by. Free as can be, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. He loved his music, his bikes and most importantly his daughter Kelsey.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Georgia Bohrer and brother Herbert Clellen Bohrer.
He is survived by loving daughter, Kelsey, his 3 brothers John Thomas Bohrer, William Douglas Bohrer and Donald Keith Bohrer, his 3 sisters Ethel Marie Roach, Georgia Mae Huber, and Lena Carol Bohrer and many adoring nieces, nephews, friends and family.
