Kim Hoang was born on February 2 1940 in Vietnam. Kim Hoang was an incredible, compassionate, and loving person. Ever since Kim Hoang was young, she loved to sing – it was her passion and she dreamed of being a famous singer. Her father was a director at a Vietnamese radio station in Saigon and my mother often sang on a Vietnamese radio station. Kim Hoang had an amazing voice, comparable to Bang Tam, a very famous Vietnamese singer 35 years ago. In Kim Hoang early twenties, she continued to pursue a singing career by singing at various clubs throughout Saigon – she even recorded a couple albums.
Kim Hoang was a local singing star in Saigon. Not only was her lovely voice, she was very beautiful too. Even though she was popular at a young age, she was always very responsible and took care of her family and her three younger siblings. Kim Hoang was an obedient daughter and all the money she made from her signing, she gave to her parents to support her family.
One of Kim Hoang’s biggest fans was her husband, Luong Dao, who was a very important judge in Vietnam. After Kim Hoang married, she stopped her singing career in order to take care of her new family.
In April 1975, a few days before the actual fall of Saigon, Kim Hoang took her two sons and left Vietnam before the communist took over. Her husband could not come at that time, so it was just her and her two sons Sammy Dao was 6 years old and Eric Dao who was 7 years old. Kim Hoang became a hairstylist, and later an instructor at a beauty academy in Arlington, Virginia for many years. Kim Hoang retired in her mid-60’s and lived with her youngest son Sammy, daughter in-law Diana, and granddaughter Michelle in Sterling Virginia. Kim Hoang is survived by her two children: Eric and Sammy Dao. Her sisters Thanh Hoang, Thuy Hoang, and Trung Hoang. Her brothers Tung Hoang, Tien Hoang, and Thuy Hoang.
