Kim Dung Tran

Kim was born in Vietnam to Hoan and Sam Nguyen on November 17, 1939. She married Trong Tran on August 24, 1965 in Washington, DC. She graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in linguistics.

She worked for many years at the World Bank as an immigration specialist.

Kim is survived by her husband Trong Tran, her daughter Yvonne Tran, her son-in law John Boyd, and Yvonne’s and John’s daughters Taylor Boyd and Stella Boyd.

Kim’s family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Amit Sarma, Allison Tallungan and the entire team at Virginia Cancer Specialists for their incredible support during her final years.

A visitation will be held at National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, US, on August 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with Mitzi Nickle officiating.

A Committal Service will take place at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, US, on August 20, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a memorial gift to the American Cancer Society or the Ashby Ponds Benevolent Fund which ensures that no Ashby Ponds resident is ever asked to leave their home simply because they have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own.
