IN THE CARE OF
National Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Kimberlee Sue Owens, 62, passed away at home in Centreville, VA, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. Born June 6, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, to Ronald Whalen and Carole Whalen. She was a 1974 graduate of Robinson High School. She married her beloved husband, Gray Owens on July 22, 1989 in Fairfax, Virginia. Kim was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin.
At an early age, Kimberlee knew her calling was to care for people: family, friends and strangers alike. Those who know Kimberlee know she would give anything to anyone in need, even if that meant the shirt off her back, which is why she shined as a nurse. Her honest and candid perspective on life is what truly gravitated people to her. Upon meeting her, you felt right at home. As if you’d known her a lifetime. Kimberlee was an enthusiastic reader and Dateline’s biggest fan. But nothing brought her more joy than caring for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Gray Owens; children, TJ Ledford, Kara Turner, Cory Turner, Lindsay Lansdowne, Tiko Lansdowne, Cameron Ledford, Clara Ledford, Jordan Owens, Mackenzee Owens, Adam Morrow, and Conner Owens; a sister, Ronnie Rubenstein; two brothers, Gregory Whalen and Jeffrey Whalen; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends whose lives Kimberlee touched are invited to the National Funeral Home, 7482 Lee Highway Falls Church, VA 22042 for Visitation, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Her Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 11:00 am.
