

Koon Hung Chong, 68, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2025, in Alexandria, Virginia. He was born on October 2, 1957, in Hong Kong, Hong Kong. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Koon Hung found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren. Known for his hard work, selflessness and kind spirit, he touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Koon Hung immigrated to the United States in 1999 in pursuit of opportunity and a better life for his family. He primarily worked as a chef and a mechanic in the DMV area. In his free time, he enjoyed watching soccer and cheering on his favorite team: Liverpool FC. In his later years, he found peace and purpose in his faith; a beautiful journey he shared with his wife of 41 years, Jenny Lau. He was baptized at the Chinese Christian Church of Virginia in 2013. His legacy continues through his children, Phoebe (Rogers) and Billy Chong, his son in law, Martin Rogers, and daughter in law, Joanna Alejandro. He was a beloved grandfather to Evelyn, Valerie and Jacques. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A memorial visitation for Mr. Koon Hung Chong will be held on November 9, 2025 at the National Funeral Home, located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042 from 12:00pm until the time of service at 1:00pm.
Following the service, a committal service will take place at the National Memorial Park, also located at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042, United States. This service is scheduled for November 9, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
