Lang-Anh Thi Truong

Lang-Anh Thi Truong was born on June 9, 1936 in Sadec, Vietnam. The oldest of four children, Lang-Anh was raised in an environment where giving and helping others were their moto. Both of her parents were in the mid-wife /nursing service.

In 1957, she married Dang Ngoc Bich. A year later, she had her first child in 1958 Dang Anh Minh, her second, Dang Thi Anh Tho in 1961, and her youngest child, Dang Anh Tri in 1968. Lang-Anh lived a privileged life until the fall of the Vietnamese Government, leading to her husband’s imprisonment in a re-education camp from 1975-1984. During this period, Lang-Anh traveled with her youngest child from camp to camp locating and supporting her husband. All the while, she gave her children their best chances of escaping by arranging for her first two children to escape from Vietnam to France, where they reside today, and her youngest escaping to Halifax in 1980 with his aunt.

In 1990, Lang-Anh and her husband made it to the United States where they reunited with their youngest. In 1991, her parents and other siblings joined them. In 1993, her youngest child got married and she and her husband moved in with them. However, with great sadness, her husband, Dang Ngoc Bich passed away in 1994 to Hepatitis C. Before passing, he was fortunate enough to meet two of his grandchildren.

Up until 2007, Lang-Anh cared for her three grandchildren that she lived with, Alex, Victoria, and Colleen. She cared for them as she would for her own children, watching over and nurturing them. They in turn, returned her kindness and generosity when she experienced her first immobilizing injury in 2007. Despite this injury, she remained strong and supportive. She always ensured her grandchildren were well fed and taken care of. She truly was their guardian and protector, throughout her remaining days until she passed on April 15, 2015 at 15:15.

Lang-Anh is now watching over her family from above, along with her loving husband, parents, and Jesus Christ in heaven.
