Jean went to be with the Lord on June 23, 2021 after a battle with cancer. She was born on August 24, 1938 in Sterling, Virginia. Jean and her husband of 45 years, Woodrow Purdy resided in the City of Falls Church where they owned and operated a successful automotive business. After retiring, she enjoyed spending her time painting pictures and working in her garden. She loved trips to see lighthouses, searching for covered bridges, and collecting postcards. Jean was a wonderful wife and mother, and will be missed so much.
"Heavenly Father, Dear Lord, we love you, and we thank you for all our many blessings. You Lord are our rock, our refuge, and our salvation. To You we run, to You we cling. In You God, we find peace. In You we put all our hope and trust. In this world we have trouble, but we take heart! For You have overcome the world. Our beloved Jean had departed to be with You Lord, and one of the ways You showed us Your love is through the gift and blessing of Jean in our lives. And while we mourn her passing, we also rejoice Lord and are thankful in the knowledge that Jean is walking with You, now and forever, alive and well, without sickness or suffering, in the garden of Heaven, where You wipe away every tear. And God, we boldly delight even further in Your resurrection, promises and faithfulness, knowing that we too will live eternally with You, and that we will see and embrace Jean again. Thank You so much Father for Your love, comfort, and support always and especially during this period of our grief. Most of all, heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In His Holy name we pray. Amen."
