Lois K. Potter, 95, passed away on August 2, 2020, in Gainesville, Virginia. She was born in 1925, the eldest of 6 children, to Milton and Alberta Kerns.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hubert Potter, her sisters, Florence Barton and Gwendolyn Wright, and her brothers David Kerns and Donald Kerns.
Lois was very proud of the fact that she was a both a life-long resident of Arlington, VA and a life-long member of The First Presbyterian Church of Arlington where she was a devoted member from the earliest days of her baptism there, to her later marriage, and to her many life celebrations held at the church. Lois also spent over 35 years working for the National Geographic Society, a time which she always spoke of fondly. While she and Hubert did not have any children of their own, she dearly loved her brothers and sisters along with her many nieces and nephews in whose lives she took great joy over the years.
She is survived by her brother Toby Kerns as well as her many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.
