Lorena K Roop

Lorena was born, raised and educated in Morrisville, Va. She moved to Washington D.C. to help raise her late nephew. On July 1, 1939 she married and settled in Washington. In the early 1950’s she and her family settled in Annandale, Va.

She was very involved with her Church, the Barcroft Bible Church, in Fairfax. She was very active with the Foreign Mission Committee of the Church.

She is survived by her daughter, with whom she lived in Springfield, JoAnne Maurer; 4 Granddaughters Kathy wife of Clyde Todd, Kristi wife of Carl Street, Kara wife of Steve Klayman, and Kelly wife of Sean Salins; and 9 Great Grandchildren Tyler, Joshua, Austin, Andrew, Shane, Shelby, Ryan, Aiden, and Kira. Lorena was predeceased by her daughter Carole Fish, and a Great Grandson Matthew Street.

Memorial Service to be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, 2013, at the Barcroft Bible Church9401 Little River Turnpike, Fairfax, Va. 22031. Burial is private.

In lieu of flowers donations in Lorena’s name suggested to either Capital Caring Hospice 2900 Telestar Ct., Falls Church, Va. 22042 or to the Barcroft Bible Church Mission Fund.
