Lori Caren Rappaport LaCroix – athlete, traveler, lover of animals - is survived by her two doting children, Hunter LaCroix and Courtney LaCroix, daughter-in-law Joanne LaCroix, and her two cats, Shone and Sweet Boy. Daughter of Fred Rappaport and Barbara Haberman, she inherited their larger-than-life personalities.

She was a woman of endless stories. She fed alligators, crushed the New York City Marathon with a broken knee, and danced with Maasai warriors. Although born and raised in New York, she considered South Florida her true home, as she loved the sunshine and ocean. However, she also loved her years living and traveling abroad with her daughter.

She will be remembered for her beauty, intelligence and defiant spirit. Services will be private, with a virtual memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local animal shelter. Lori's Hebrew name was Leah Chaya.

Although I have known Lori for a few years from a job we both worked at, we stayed in touch taking walks on the beach, barre classes, nights out for cocktails or dinner and even walking our doggies. We always had so much to talk about and share… she was so kind and sweet and beautiful! I will miss her sense of humor and caring heart. 💜💕

I will always think of Lori when thrift shopping and then having champagne cocktails. She will be missed profusely.

My sweet beautiful friend. Always a smile on her face. We were friends more when the kids were younger but we always kept tabs on each other. We met on the tennis courts. Of course she was a superstar. Her love and devotion to her children had no bounds and she was so very proud of them. We spoke about 10 days ago. She told me she was going to do her very best to fight. And then she told me she put her order in for a grandchild from Hunter. ✨✨and said she couldn’t wait to get together with our grandchildren one day. She was a lovely woman. I will always carry a place in my heart for her.

Lori was our Bellini specialist at family gatherings. And she sure played a mean pinball when we went to the arcade in Delray. Monday movie nights with Michele in Boca was always an event they looked forward to. Times when we were all together with our kids in Florida or Maryland were always so special. We were blessed to have such a beautiful friend. Forever in our hearts with many great memories and love.
