Mrs. Payne was an Author and Artist. She worked for the Department of Defense as a secretary and then joined her husband in his business- Payne’s Decorating. She was an active member of Orlean United Methodist Church working with their Food Bank and she had volunteered at The Fauquier Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband- Daniel Barton Payne.
She is survived by two daughters- Cynthia Steger of Fairfax, VA and Sandra Payne of Sterling, VA; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Benjamin; one great-grandson, Luke and a brother John Ray.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 10:30 AM. Interment at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
