Luz Montecinos

Luz Aidee Montecinos, was born on July 31st, 1941 in Cochabamba, Bolivia. In her early life, Luz’s education consisted of attending and graduating Luis Quintinvilla high school and then trade school. She met Raul Montecinos who would be her soulmate for life and married him in 1962. She gave birth to her first child Roger who was proceeded by Gonzalo and Roxana. In 1980, Luz traveled to the United States in search for a better life for her family and to build a foundation for generations to come. She worked diligently to ensure her children received a good education and have the ability to be successful in their careers. Luz was proactive in her community by participating in the choir of her local parish, being a member of the women’s group, and leading a prayer group. In her later years she lived a peaceful and quiet life with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. On the morning of August 20th, 2020 Luz was embraced by God and was called home to heaven. Luz is survived by her husband; Raul Montecinos, children; Roger, Gonzalo, and Roxana Montecinos, her siblings, and a host of grandchildren. Luz was a woman of deep faith and lived her life to the fullest. She often said to her children “believe in yourself as much as I believe in you. I can’t promise to be here for the rest of your life but I can promise to love you for the rest of mine.” She more than fulfilled that very promise.

Luz Aidee Montecinos, nació el 31 de julio de 1941 en Cochabamba, Bolivia. En sus primeros años, la educación de Luz consistió en asistir y graduarse de la escuela secundaria Luis Quintinvilla y luego de la escuela de oficios. Conoció a Raúl Montecinos, quien sería su alma gemela de por vida y se casó con él en 1962. Dio a luz a su primer hijo, Roger, a quien le siguieron Gonzalo y Roxana. En 1980, Luz viajó a los Estados Unidos en busca de una vida mejor para su familia y para sentar las bases para las generaciones venideras. Trabajó diligentemente para asegurarse de que sus hijos recibieran una buena educación y tuvieran la capacidad de tener éxito en sus carreras. Luz fue proactiva en su comunidad al participar en el coro de su parroquia local, ser miembro del grupo de mujeres y dirigir un grupo de oración. En sus últimos años, vivió una vida pacífica y tranquila con su esposo, hijos y nietos. Fue una amada esposa, madre, abuela y amiga de muchos. En la mañana del 20 de agosto de 2020, Dios abrazó a Luz y la llamó a casa en el cielo. A Luz le sobrevive su esposo; Raúl Montecinos, hijos; Roger, Gonzalo y Roxana Montecinos, sus hermanos y una gran cantidad de nietos. Luz fue una mujer de profunda fe y vivió su vida al máximo. A menudo les decía a sus hijos “creen en ustedes mismos tanto como yo creo en ustedes. No puedo prometer estar aquí por el resto de sus vidas, pero puedo prometer amarlos por el resto de la mía”. Ella más que cumplió esa promesa.
