Madan Lal Gohri
January 25, 1932 – March 3, 2021
IN THE CARE OF
National Funeral Home & Memorial Park
Madan Lal Gohri was born and raised in Rawalpindi until his family migrated to Delhi in 1947. He comes from a family of seven siblings: five brothers and two sisters.
He married Sunita Gohri on May 6, 1958 and shared 60 years together, raising a beautiful family. Madan was the first in his family to earn a college education. To him, education was everything, the one thing no one can take away from you.
Since Madan worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was fortunate to travel with family on his various assignments abroad including Karachi, Kathmandu, Warsaw and Washington D.C. where he chose to resettle his family. Wherever he went, Madan was always giving to others, always making sure to end each conversation with a loved one, stranger, and anyone in between with, “May God Bless You.”
Madan loved raising his grandchildren, playing card games, and Facetiming his family and friends all over the world. He especially enjoyed going to Durga Temple daily and visiting the temple while getting his daily goal of 5,000 steps and mingling with the Pandit Ji’s and other visitors.
For his age, he was the king of technology, always playing games on his iPad and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune with Rajeev and Simmi. We will always remember his selflessness, positivity, and his endless advice that he passed on to us. Thank you to everyone for paying respects to our beloved Madan Lal Gohri.
God bless everyone.
