Marjorie Belfield Grenoble was born on July 9, 1914, and lived an interesting and productive life. She was a long-time resident of Falls Church, Va., but had many unique experiences throughout her life with her husband, the late William Luster Grenoble and their 3 children, living in Finland, Austria, and Germany during Bill’s diplomatic assignments as a Foreign Services Officer. She had many friends at home and abroad, and was known by all who knew her to be a very sociable and gracious hostess and friend.
Besides being a loving mother to her 3 children, Marjorie had quite a variety of interests and skills. She loved collecting interesting stamps from all over the world, could grow the most beautiful African Violets, she greatly enjoyed having her own kiln for her ceramics hobby and could hand-paint china and dishware with artist quality. Along with this, she always had a special place in her heart for strong-willed dachshunds and large, curly poodles. Marjorie especially loved spending time with her husband and children in the summers at their cabin on the Rappahannock River and had many fond memories of their crabbing and fishing experiences and adventures, and just enjoying the beautiful river atmosphere.
Marjorie is predeceased in death by her husband of 45 years, Bill, and her grandson, Michael. She is survived by her 3 children, Bill and wife Janet of Accokeete, Md., Richard and wife Sharon of Dinwiddie, Va., and Myko Grenoble of S. Portland, Me. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren-Keith, Lyle, and Benjamin Grenoble; Richard D., Steven, and Matthew Grenoble; and Nicholas Grenoble; and 9 great-grandchildren-Walker Grenoble, Carisma, Molly, and Benjamin Grenoble, Sophia and Alexander Grenoble, Claire and Charlotte Grenoble, and Harrison Grenoble.
The Family held a graveside Remembrance Service to honor Marjorie on Sunday, November 25, 2018.
