

Marcia Levy, advocate for the National Organization for Women and AIDS awareness passed away on Thursday October 25 following an illness. She was 76. Marcia grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts. She graduated from University of Massachusetts and was in the 1957 edition of Who’s Who in American Colleges & Universities. Marcia became a member of the board for the National Organization for Women and was instrumental in starting several state chapters and forming the first statewide conference in VA. She founded her own advertising agencies; Levy Jacobs and Levy, Zimberg & Gilbert. In the early 90’s after the loss of her son, Marcia became the Executive Director for Public Relations for Whitman Walker Clinics. She also was the Executive Director for the Tampa AIDS Network. Marcia is preceded in death by her son Edward Levy and her parents Benjamin & Ethel Winegard. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Ethel Levy and James Cox, her grandchildren Joe & Jack Cox and her cousins Herbert & Doris Davidow, Irwin & Ruth Solomon, Laurie & Ken Krohn, Lynne Fraley, Gary & Susan Davidow, Barry Levine, Susan Kuest, Joel Solomon, Jonathan Solomon and Stephen Solomon. Marcia is also survived by her loving friends. Funeral Service to begin on Thursday,November 1,2012 at the National Funeral Home Chapel, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in King David Memorial Gardens Cemetery,Falls Church. .
