Margaret; FROM OUR MEETING YOU WORKING ON THE FIRST CATHOILC CARITIES BALL IN 1882 AND NUMEROUS OTHER VOLUNTEER AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES, YOU ALSO HAD GREAT COMPASION FOR HELPING THOSE IN NEED, A WAY OF GETTING THE JOB DONE AND A SMILE THAT HELPED US ACHIEVE MORE THAN ANY ONE EXPECTED. WE KNOW THE GATES OF HEAVEN OPENED WIDE TO WELCOME YOU!

I first saw then Colonel Brewer at my graduation from the 30th WOCC at Quantico in 1972.  Having never seen a female Marine wearing eagles, it was a special first meeting.  We met again when she came on a visit to recruit training at Parris Island.  I was assigned as her escort for one of the events, and I remember how she made a lowly 1st Lt feel as if her opinions mattered.  She was very good at making others feel important.  I last visited her in June before I moved to NC...she did not remember me, but listened and smiled as though she did when I mentioned many of her Marine Corps friends.  She is an integral part of Marine Corps, and specifically women Marine history, and she will never be forgotten.-Colonel Mitzi Manning-

Thank you for leading the way for women like me.  You have been a true inspiration to all women Marines.
