Margie was born in Goodnight Texas, a small town south of Amarillo to Virgil Clarence Kersey and Katie Florence Kersey; she was number 6 of 7 children: 2 boys and 5 girls (1905-1918)
She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 5 and was baptized at the age of 10
Attended Langley Junior High in Washington DC, Jefferson Junior High in Detroit Michigan and took college preparatory courses at Lubbock High in Lubbock Texas
Margie met Frank L Remsnyder (1914-1989) in Wichita Kansas at the rail road station while they were both traveling separately across country. They were married by Rev Alan F Poore in the Methodist Church in Washington DC on December 28, 1934
Resident of Towanda PA from 1934 to 1956, Margie was employed by the American Acme Store, Ruggles, JJ Newberry, WT Grant and secretary to JH Blackwell in the Towanda Water Works. Frank and Margie’s first 2 children were born in Towanda, Harold Albert in 1936 and Katie Irene in 1940.
In 1948 Margie and 2 of her sisters had an all-night prayer time and Margie experienced a glorious renewal in Christ and became filled with the Holy Spirit. This and the laying on of hands were highlight experiences in her life. She advised others to walk in all the light that God sheds on their path.
In 1956 the Remsnyders moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where Margie was an accountant at LS Ayres & Co. Their 3rd child, Mary Elizabeth was born in 1959
In 1964 they moved to San Francisco, California, where Margie was very active in her church and attended Shiloh Temple Bible College in Oakland from 1967 to 1977.
Margie first visited Gospel Temple in San Jose, California in 1964 and in 1977 she made Christian Community Church her home church where she was involved in church activities and attended Northern California Bible College. Margie spent the last years of her working career as a floral shop owner.
In 2009, Margie, with the help of her daughter Mary, took the almost 3,000 mile road trip to move to New York in a 26 foot moving truck. She attended the Vineyard Church in Auburn NY.
She is survived by:
Son, Harold and wife Dixie of Sharptown, MD, daughters Katie Thommen and husband David of Agoura Hills CA and daughter, Mary Kurtz and husband Carl of Weedsport NY.
Grandchildren: Debra Kay, Kathy Lynn, Beverly Irene and husband Gary, Kenneth David, Mary Elizabeth and Mark Thomas
Sister-In law, Ruth Harrington, nephews Sean, Brian, Barry, Rick and Jackie and nieces Ann, Barbara and Janice
Nieces and Nephews: Larry Dunnington and wife Debbie, Kenneth -Kersey and wife Donna and grand-niece Robin, Glenda Kay Benno and husband Steve, Richard Draham and wife Vivian, Joseph Kersey and wife Kristin, Joseph Jr. and Kate, Carolyn Redden and husband David and Lisa Kersey
Great Grandchildren: Jenifer, Tifany, John, Jeremiah, Kari Melissa, Kristina, Kari Lynn, Haley, Austin, Jonathan
Great Great Grandchildren: Jay, Jackson, Braden, Morgan, Lilly, Bryce, Carter, Miah, Brody, Ryder
Many friends from Christian Community Church in San Jose CA and Vineyard Church in Auburn NY
Burial will be held in Falls Church Virginia in the Kersey Family Plot
