Maria Konstantina Laliotis

Maria Sambrakos was born in Sparta, Greece on February 25, 1933. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 where she married her lifelong sweetheart, Antonios Laliotis, also from Sparta, on May 11th 1956, in Washington, DC.

Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband Antonios, her son Sarantos, her granddaughter Dimitroula and her three brothers, Vasilios, Evangelos, Stefanis, and her twin sisters, Sophia and Fani Sambrakos.

Maria is survived by her daughters and their families, Deany and Daniel Merlis, and their two sons and their families, Steven and Maura and their children, Daniel, Charles, Bruce and Caroline, and Jonathan and Emma and their son, Logan; and, Effie and Christos Sarantis and their two children, Maria and Sotirios.

The viewing and funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 19th at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041 at 10:00 am and 11:00 am respectively. Following the funeral, Maria will be buried at National Memorial Park at 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA. Donations can be made to Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her memory.
