On Thursday, February 9, 2012, Marie D. Marshall, long time resident of Arlington County died peacefully of natural causes. She was 93. Wife and best friend of the late Clifford Marshall for 67 years. She is survived by her children Michael (Pam) Marshall, Joy (John) D’Angelo, and her cherished grandchildren Drs. Megan (Dane) Barrett, and John A. D’Angelo.
Marie served as a member of the Arlington County Police Department beginning in 1952 as the School Crossing Guard at Nottingham Elementary. Thirty years later she retired as Supervisor of the Crossing Guards in 1982. During her tenure, Marie was actively involved in the Arlington and Fairfax County Police Patrol Camps. Family and friends are invited to Marie's Life Celebration, today, Saturday, February 11 from 10am until funeral services at 11am at St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Rd., Falls Church, VA. Interment National Memorial Park.
