Marilyn Joyce Wixson

Marilyn J. Wixson of Woodbridge, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Stafford Hospital after a brief illness. The former Marilyn Joyce Lamont was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Glenn J. Lamont and Elfledia J. Plueddemann and was the loving sister of Glenn H. Lamont. In 1949, she moved to Northern Virginia with her husband Leonard C. Wixson, who first noticed the angelic Marilyn singing in the church choir. Together they established and managed Plantation Realty, which received a 50-year award from the City of Falls Church in 2003. They spent 60 years together before his death in 2009 and enjoyed time spent on the Potomac River, traveling, and with their two children and granddaughters. They raised two children in Falls Church, Carolyn Wixson Hartwell (Rob) of Palmetto, FL, and Leonard Matthew Wixson (Kelly) of Star Tannery, VA. She is also survived by her granddaughters EmmaLee Doris Haga of Boca Raton, FL, and Maggie Ann Wixson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Marilyn Wixson to the American Heart Association. A private service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
